IndianOil Academic Scholarships 2012-2013

IndianOil offers 2600 Scholarships for Students of 10+/ITI, Engineering, MBBS and MBA courses on merit-cum-means basis

IndianOil Merit Scholarships Scheme for 10+/ITI studies

2000 scholarships are being offered for 10+/ITI studies
The equitable distribution of scholarships may be state-wise, based on number of students appeared for 10th standard during 2011-2012

IndianOil Scholarships Scheme for Graduate and Post-Graduate students

600 scholarships are being offered for professional courses (Engineering 300; MBBS 200; MBA 100)
The distribution of scholarships may be zone-wise based on number of students appeared for 12th standard during 2011-12 and may be equitably distributed in the four zones (North, South, East and West)

Eligibility: Students pursuing full time/regular courses (not correspondence or distance mode) in these streams and studying in schools/colleges/institutions/universities recognized by MCI/AICTE/State Education Boards/State Govt/ICSE/ISC/CBSE/Central Govt/Association of Indian universities, shall be eligible to apply
The student should have bonafide admission in the 1st year of school/college/institute/university in the academic year 2012-2013
Students having confirmed admission in the first year of full time engineering degree course (minimum 4 years), MBBS (minimum 4 years), MBA (minimum 2 years) are eligible to apply
Students of two years full time/regular courses (not correspondence or distance mode) post graduate courses in Business Administration/Management recognized by Central/State Govt/Association of Indian universities and which are equivalent to MBA, are eligible for Management stream scholarship
For 10+/ITI stream (minimum 2 years), students of 11th standard as well as those in the 1st year of 2 years ITI course are eligible to apply
In case of graduates, the average percentage of total marks of all the academic years of graduation shall be treated as marks obtained by the candidate

Similarly in case of 10th/12th, if percentage of marks obtained is not mentioned by Board/University, percentage of marks obtained shall be calculated on total aggregate marks
Gross joint income of the family of the candidate from all sources (during financial year 2011-12) should not exceed Rs 1,00,000/- (Rs one lakh only) per annum
However, preference will be given to the students whose family income (gross joint income from all sources in 2011-12) is Rs 60,000/- (Rs sixty thousand only) or less
Income certificate should be issued by Competent Revenue Authorities only

Selection Procedure: After the last date of applying online 30th September, 2012, a list of shortlisted candidates will be prepared and these candidates will be informed by post to submit certain documents/ forms like caste/date of birth/mark sheet/family’s income certificate etc, duly authenticated/attested by appropriate competent authority/ civil authority along with hard copy of application (print out of the application form already applied online) for verification and drawing up final merit list
However, in case the marks, income or any other information, declared in the online application, is found incorrect during scrutiny, the candidature of such candidates shall be summarily rejected
Decision of IOCL regarding scholar’s selection shall be final and no correspondence on the selection process shall be entertained
Once awarded, the scholarships will be disbursed @ Rs 3,000/- per month for 4 years in case of Engineering and MBBS and 2 years for MBA courses and @ Rs 1,000 /- per month for duration of 2 years in case of 10+/ITI course
Duration of each course in no case be less than the duration of the scholarship
The scholarship will be suspended, if the scholar is not promoted to the next academic year and the scholarship will be discontinued permanently if this happens for the second time, in succession or two times in the entire course of the study
The performance of the scholar must be satisfactory during the entire duration of the course
The performance of the student/scholar is to be certified by the Head/Principal/Dean/Director of the School/College/ Institute/University
The top one scholar each from Engineering, MBBS and MBA (who top their respective university after completing full duration of the course) and top 10 scholars of 12th and ITI (who are able to achieve position amongst top ten in their respective board after completing full duration of the course) will be awarded bonus prize of Rs 10,000/- (Rs ten thousand only) each and invited to the annual day function of IndianOil Institute of Petroleum Management, Gurgaon, to receive the prize

A scholarship holder under this scheme will not hold any other scholarship/stipend/financial aid from any other source
If awarded any other scholarship/stipend/financial aid, the student can exercise his/her option for choosing the scholarship that he/she proposes to avail and inform awarding authority about the same with intimation to his school/college/institute/University
In case, the scholar opts for any other scholarship/stipend/financial aid, he/she will have to refund the scholarship amount for the duration during which he/she is in receipt of the IOCL scholarship
The payment of scholarship amount will be sent on six monthly basis through head of the respective School/College/Institute/University of the selected scholar
There will be no obligation on part of IOCL to provide employment to any scholar at any point of time
IOCL reserves the right to reject any application as well as discontinue the scholarship at any time without giving any notice/assigning any reason

The Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology (Government of India) has established the Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI), an autonomous institution, as a part of the interdisciplinary Health Biotech Science Cluster, in the National Capital Region. The institution is designed to be a dynamic and interactive organization with a mission to conduct innovative translational research and develop research collaborations across disciplines and professions to accelerate the extension of concepts to the improvement of human health.
THSTI has set up niche centres of research in a number of interface areas relevant to translational research namely, Vaccine and Infectious Disease Research Center (VIDRC), Pediatric Biology Center (PBC) and Centre for Biodesign (CBD).  
Vaccine and Infectious Disease Research Center (VIDRC) has a mission to study infectious disease and pathogens and understand host-pathogen interactions at the molecular and cellular level with an aim to generate translational knowledge for developing prophylactic and therapeutic measures against diseases prevalent in India.    
Pediatric Biology Center (PBC) will conduct hypothesis driven research on the biological basis of childhood health and diseases. The generated knowledge will be incorporated in THSTI institutional networks developing diagnostic and therapeutic modalities.
Centre for Bio design (CBD) will promote strategic basic research and an effective translational route of science into development of novel technology platforms, implants, devices, diagnostics and imaging. It will support a multidisciplinary approach of combining novel technological concepts and clinical expertise.

NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY TEST (NET), DECEMBER, 2012-2013

The CSIR and UGC provide CSIR/UGC Research Fellowship to bright young men and women for training in methods of research under expert guidance of faculty members/scientists working in University Departments/National Laboratories and Institutions in various fields of Science & Technology.

A certain number of JRFs are awarded each year by CSIR/UGC to those holding the required degree, with a minimum 55% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates and PH/VH candidates [Para 3.2]), who qualify the Joint CSIRUGC Test for Junior Research Fellowship and Eligibility for Lectureship- National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by CSIR twice in a year.

VALUE OF JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP (NET)
Candidates qualifying for the award of JRF (NET) will receive fellowship either from CSIR or UGC as per their assignment or from the Schemes with which they may find association. A list showing various CSIR Laboratories/Institutes with their area of specialization

CSIR will hold the above national level test on 23rd December, 2012 for determining the eligibility of the Indian national candidates for the award of Junior Research Fellowships (JRF)-NET and for determining eligibility for appointment of Lecturers-(NET) in certain subject areas falling under the faculty of Science. The award of Junior Research Fellowship-(NET) to the successful eligible candidates will depend on their finding admission/placement in a university/ national laboratory/ institution of higher learning and research, as applicable.

The Test will be held in the subjects as under

Educational Qualification:
BS-4 years program/BE/B. Tech/B. Pharma/MBBS/Integrated BS-MS/M.Sc. or Equivalent degree with at least 55% marks for General & OBC (50% for SC/ST candidates, Physically and Visually handicapped candidates) Candidate enrolled for M.Sc. or having completed 10+2+3 years of the above qualifying examination are also eligible to apply in the above subject under the Result Awaited (RA) category on the condition that they complete the qualifying degree with requisite percentage of marks within the validity period of two years to avail the fellowship from the effective date of award.

For JRF (NET): Maximum 28 years as on 01-07-2012

The recruitment for the post of Probationary Clerks is on state-wise/union territory-wise basis
Candidates can apply for Probationary Clerk post in one state/union territory only and should have appeared for the CWE, from a centre allotted for that particular state/union territory in IBPS CWE-Clerk 2011
On selection, candidates will be placed anywhere in that state/union territory depending up on Bank’s requirement
Candidates belonging to reserved categories, for which no post has been announced, are free to apply against the unreserved posts, provided they fulfill the eligibility criteria
Candidates should be able to read, write and speak English

Selection Procedure: Depending upon the number of vacancies, only those candidates (with the above minimum score in the CWE conducted by IBPS and possess a valid score card issued by IBPS), who have applied to our Bank’s vacancy notification and rank sufficiently high in the order of merit based on the TWS and as decided by the Bank shall be called for interview
Mere eligibility/obtention of specified marks in TWS shall not vest any right in a candidate for being called for interview
The interview shall be conducted to assess the personality traits having bearing on interpersonal competence, emotional stability, adaptability, courtesy, self confidence and temperament, positive attitude towards work/ people and communication skills etc
Maximum marks for interview shall be 100 with minimum qualifying marks of 40% (35% in case of reserved category candidates as per GoI guidelines)
Final Selection: Final selection will be on the basis of the merit ranking reckoned after adding the marks obtained in the total weighted score in the CWE and interview
Total weighted score 250; marks obtained in interview 100; Total marks 350
A rank/merit list of candidates in the descending order of merit, category wise, based on the total marks obtained by them in the above two criteria, shall be prepared state wise and the final selection shall be in the descending order of merit and as per GoI guidelines
The Bank reserves the right to change the selection procedure/hold supplementary written test/selection process, if necessary
The change, if any, shall be intimated to the candidates through our website in advance

Collect the candidate’s copy of fee payment challan (in duplicate) from the branch
Please verify that challan is properly signed and the details of transaction number, branch name and, deposit date are noted in the challan by the branch authorities
Log on to bank website www.vijayabank.com for applying on-line
After on-line registration, candidates are requested to write their registration number on the back of the payment challan
The application fee/intimation charges should be paid between 16th August, 2012 and 05th September, 2012 (both dates inclusive) only
Even if the last date of registration changes due to any/technical reasons, the valid dates for payment of application fee/intimation charges will not be changed
Payment of fee by demand draft/cheque/money orders/postal orders etc or any other mode will not be accepted and such applications will be summarily rejected
