Advertisement No.  02/12 (Non-faculty)

Applications on the prescribed form are invited from Indian Nationals for recruitment to the following (Non-faculty)  posts of the Institute. 

1) Registrar –1 post 
(On contract/Deputation)
Scale of Pay : PB-4 (Rs. 37,400 – 67,000/- with Grade Pay of Rs. 10,000/- 

Essential Qualification & Experience:
(i) Deputation or on Contract basis :  Officers under the Central/State Governments/Universities/Recognized Research Institutes or Institutes of national importance or Govt. laboratory or PSU :- (a) (i) Holding analogous posts or (ii) With at least 3 years regular service in posts with GP of Rs. 8700/- as per 6th Central Pay Commission or equivalent; and (b) Possessing educational qualification and experience as follows :  
(ii) Essential : Masters’ degree in any discipline with at least 60 % marks or its equivalent grade of 6.5 of 10 CGPA or its equivalent grade- “B”( with grade point 4.0) in the UGC 7.scale from a recognized University/Institute or first class Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent grade with excellent academic record.
(iii) Experience : (i) 20 years experience as Officer in technical administrative/academic management including educational administration/financial management in a major higher education/R&D institution/Central/State Govt./PSU or Autonomous organization or major industry of which 5 years should be as Deputy Registrar in GP of Rs. 8700/- or an equivalent post. 
(iv) Desirable : (i)  Qualification in area of Management/Engineering/Law. (ii) Experience in handling computerized administration/legal/financial/ establishment matters. 
(v) Age limit for direct recruits :  Preferably below 57 years.
(vi) Method of Recruitment : Deputation or on Contract basis for a tenure up to 5 (five)  years or till attaining the age of 62  years whichever is earlier.  

2) Deputy Registrar (A/C)- 1 post
(On Regular/Contract/Deputation)
Scale of Pay : PB-3 (Rs. 15,600 – 39,100/- with Grade Pay of Rs. 7,600/-.

Essential Qualification & Experience:

(i) Essential : Master’s degree with CGPA of 6.5 in 10 point scale or at least 60% marks or its equivalent grade ”B” (with grade point 4.0) in the UGC  seven point scale from a recognized University/Institute or first class Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent grade with excellent academic record. 
(ii) Experience : (i) 10 years experience of technical/ administrative/academic management including educational administration/financial management in a major higher education/R&D institution/Central/State Govt./PSU or Autonomous organization or major industry of which 5 (five) years should be as Assistant Registrar in G.P of Rs. 6600/- or an equivalent post.  
(iii) Desirable: (i) Qualification in area of management/ engineering/law. (ii) Experience in handling computerized administration/legal/financial/establishment matters (iii) A Chartered or Cost Accountant degree or diploma is highly desirable for the post of Deputy Registrar (Finance & Accounts) or Deputy Registrar (Internal Audit).
(iv) On Deputation :  Officers from the Central/State Govt. or Institutes of national importance or Universities/Universities level Institution or PSU : (a) (i) holding analogous posts or  (ii) With at least  5 (five) years service in posts in the GP of Rs. 6600/- as per Central Pay Commission or its equivalent and having experience in administration, establishment and accounts matters. (b) possessing educational qualification and experience as prescribed above.  
(v) Age limit for direct recruits :  Preferably below 45 years.
(vi) Period of Probation : 2 years from joining the post. 

3) Assistant Registrar  - 4 posts (Administration/Academic/Accounts)
(On Regular/ Contract/Deputation/ Promotion)
Scale of Pay : PB-3 (Rs. 15,600 – 39,100/- with Grade Pay of Rs. 5400/-
(Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PWD as per Central Govt. norms) 

Essential Qualification & Experience:

(i) Essential : Master’s degree with CGPA of 6.5 in 10 point scale or at least 60% marks or its equivalent grade ”B” (with grade point 4.0) in the UGC seven point scale from a recognized University/Institute or first class Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent grade with excellent academic record.  OR
Employees of the Institute serving as Superintendent (SG-II) or Secretary (Selection Grade-II) for at least 6 (six) years at Grade Pay of Rs. 4800/- or higher with Master’s degree, and exemplary performance record. (Age bar not applicable; no relaxation in educational qualifications).
(ii) Desirable : (i) possessing qualification in area of Management/Engineering/Law will be given preference. (ii) Experience in handling computerized administration/legal/financial/ establishment matters. (iii) A Chartered or cost accountant degree or diploma is highly desirable for the post of Assistant Registrar (Finance & Accounts). 
(iii) Age limit for direct recruits :  Not exceeding 35 years
(iv) Period of Probation :2 years from joining the post. 
(v) Promotion : From the post of Superintendent (SG-I) or Secretary (SG-I) through prescribed test and interview. Educational qualification : As mentioned above, but Ist Class is not essential. 
(vi) Deputation : Officers from the Central/State Govts. or Institutes of national  importance or Universities/University level Institution or PSU : (a) Holding analogous posts,  and  (b) Possessing educational qualification and experience as prescribed above.
