Applications in prescribed format are invited from the citizens of India for filling up the following posts (Teaching & Non‐teaching) at North Eastern Regional Institute of Science & Technology, Nirjuli – 791109 (Itanagar), Arunachal Pradesh.  

Posts:

1) Professor- 24 
Pay Bands with Grade Pay : PB-4; Rs.37400-67000/- AGP Rs.10000/- 
Minimum Educational Qualification, desirable qualification & Experience etc : Ph.D. with first class in Master’s or B.Tech Degree in the appropriate branch or equivalent with a very good academic record throughout and a minimum of ten years’ experience out of which at least 05 years at the level of Associate Professor or equivalent grade in a University, College or Accredited Research Institution/Industry excluding the period of Ph.D. research; and a minimum of 10 publications as books and/or research/policy paper.

2) Associate Professor - 43 
Pay Bands with Grade Pay : PB-4; Rs.37400-67000/- AGP Rs.9000/- 
Minimum Educational Qualification, desirable qualification & Experience etc : Ph.D. with first class in Master’s or B.Tech Degree in the appropriate branch or equivalent with a very good academic record throughout and a minimum of eight years’ of experience of teaching and/or research in an academic/research position at the level of Assistant Professor or equivalent grade in a University, College or Accredited Research Institution/Industry excluding the period of Ph.D. research; and a minimum of 5 publications as books and/or research/policy paper.

3) Assistant Professor - 07 
Pay Bands with Grade Pay : PB-3; Rs.15600-39100/- AGP Rs.6000/- 
Minimum Educational Qualification, desirable qualification & Experience etc : Master’s with 1st class or equivalent or B.Tech first class with Ph.D. in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout. For Science and Humanities Group, NET/SLET/SET shall remain the minimum eligibility condition. However, candidates, who have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the UGC Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET.

4) Registrar – 01 (UR) 
Pay Bands with Grade Pay : PB-4; Rs.37400-67000/- AGP Rs.10000/- 
Minimum Educational Qualification, desirable qualification & Experience etc : (i) Master’s Degree with at least 55% of the marks or its equivalent 
grade of ‘B’ in the UGC 7 point scale;
(i) At least 15 years of experience as Assistant Professor in the AGP of Rs.7000/- and above or with 8 years’ of service in the AGP of Rs.8000/- and above including as Associate Professor along with experience in educational administration; OR comparable experience in research establishment and/or other Institutions of higher education;

OR 15 years of administrative experience, of which 8 years shall be as Deputy Registrar or an equivalent post. 
Age limit: Below 50 years.

5) Deputy Registrar - 01 (OBC)
Pay Bands with Grade Pay : PB-3; Rs.15600-39100/- AGP Rs.7600/- 
Minimum Educational Qualification, desirable qualification & Experience etc : (i) Master’s Degree with at least 55% of the marks or its equivalent 
grade of ‘B’ in the UGC 7 point scale;
(ii) At least 09 years of experience as Assistant Professor in the AGP of Rs.6000/- and above with experience in educational administration; OR comparable experience in research establishment and/or other Institutions of higher education; OR 05 years of administrative experience as Assistant Registrar or in an equivalent post. Persons having CA/ICWA/SAS will be preferred. 
Age limit: Below 45 years

6) Assistant Registrar – 02 (UR)
Pay Bands with Grade Pay : PB-3; Rs.15600-39100/- AGP Rs.5400/- 
Minimum Educational Qualification, desirable qualification & Experience etc : (i) Post-Graduate Degree with at least 55 % marks or its equivalent 
grade from a recognized University; 
(ii) Desirable knowledge in computer application; 
(iii) Minimum one year experience at the level of Group-B Officer in the field of administration, establishment, finance, Store & Purchase and academic offices in a Govt. /Semi Govt. /University. Preference shall be given to higher experience holders. 
Age limit: Below 40 years.

7) Medical Officer – 01 (OBC)
Pay Bands with Grade Pay : PB-3; Rs.15600-39100/- AGP Rs.5400/- 
Minimum Educational Qualification, desirable qualification & Experience etc : i) First Class MBBS Degree, from a College/University recognized by the Medical Council of India. Preference shall be given to those having higher qualification and experience in a Govt./Semi Govt./University. 
ii) Age : Below 35 years

8) Asstt. Workshop Supdt. (AWS) – 01(UR)
Pay Bands with Grade Pay : PB-3; Rs.15600-39100/- AGP Rs.5400/- 
Minimum Educational Qualification, desirable qualification & Experience etc : (i) Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent;
(ii) About one year’s practical training and 04 years experience in workshop in a responsible capacity covering production, planning, estimating production control of workers. 
iii) Age : Below 35 years

9) Network Administrator (on contract basis)
Consolidated salary of Rs.30,000/-
Minimum Educational Qualification, desirable qualification & Experience etc : i) Minimum B.Tech in Electronics & Communication/Computer Science Engineering or MCA/M.Tech. from a College/University recognized by the AICTE/UGC; 
(ii) 03 years of experience in relevant field is desirable. 
(iii) Age below 60 years. Retired person (in good health) having experience in relevant field may also be considered.

The application must accompany with certified copies of all certificates in support of his/her candidature and two copies of passport size photograph (one should be pasted on the form). The completed applications accompanied with all above documents and a non‐refundable application fee of Rs.200/‐ for SC/ST and Rs.500/‐ for others in the form of Demand Draft drawn in favour of Director, NERIST and payable at SBI Nirjuli (Code No.9535) Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh should reach the Registrar, NERIST, Nirjuli, PIN –791109, Arunachal Pradesh by Registered/Speed Post only superscribing the envelope as “Application for the post of________________”. Last Date of receipt of completed application is  31.7.2012.

General Conditions/Instructions:

1. Applications filled only in prescribed format along with API Score sheet will be entertained;

2. Incomplete applications and/or applications received after the due date shall summarily be rejected and no further correspondence in this matter shall be entertained;

3. Vacancies are tentative and may be increased or decreased;

4. The pay bands carry other allowances admissible as per Government of India rules;

5. The post of Network Administrator is for purely temporary and on contractual basis. No other benefit except consolidated salary of Rs.30,000/‐ shall be admissible. Further, the person, if selected, shall have no right to claim for regularization after contractual appointment;  

6. The post of Medical Officer is residential one and reserved for male candidate only, and the person, if selected, has to stay inside the campus and have to attend emergency duties beyond normal office working hours;  

7. The candidates who have applied in response to the earlier Advertisements No. 2/2010 (for the posts of AR and AWS), 3/2010, and 1/2011 need not apply again; however, they may submit up‐dated C.V. referring to the earlier application without any application fee.

8. Submission of API Score in the prescribed format (Annexure‐II) and acquiring minimum score as stipulated is essential for the post of Professor and Associate Professor;

9. Institute reserves the right to fill or not to fill any or all the vacancies so advertised;

10. Applications received in response to the advertisement will be scrutinized and short‐listed candidates will only be called for interview. Mere fulfillment of minimum eligibility criteria laid down in the advertisement does not entitle automatically a candidate to be called for interview and guarantee of selection. The decision of the Institute Authority for short‐listing of candidates shall be final and binding;

11. Depending on perceived availability of qualified candidates, different departments may set different short‐listing criteria;

12. Age should be as on last date of receipt of application;

13. Relaxation of age for SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates is applicable as per GoI Rules and instruction thereof

14. % of marks for SC/ST is relaxable as per GoI or other norms;

15. No correspondence whatsoever will be entertained from candidates regarding postal delays, conduct and result of interview and reasons for not being called for interview;

16. Persons employed in Govt./Semi‐Govt./PSUs/ Autonomous Institutions should submit their applications through proper channel;  

17. Canvassing in any form would lead to disqualification of candidature;

18. Any change of address should be communicated at once;

19. TA shall be paid for attending the interview as per Institute Rule.

20. The Demand Draft should not be drawn before the date of issue of this advertisement and after the closing date of receipt of application and also should have validity at least for six months.  

21. Candidates willing to apply for two or more posts must submit separate applications and fees, if applicable, for each post, in separate envelopes;
